OUR LEADERSHIP

Mark Riggins, Senior Pastor

Mark was born and raised in Texas. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Mark and his wife Ginger were married in 1996. Mark began ministry in 1997 by serving at a church in West Texas. In 2011, the Riggins family left their home state and served two churches in California. After a decade of ministry in California, the Riggins family returned back to Texas when Mark became the Senior Pastor at LifePoint in March, 2021.

Mark and Ginger have four children: Reagen, Kennedy, Lincoln, and Madison. As a family, they enjoy camping and traveling. Mark is also a painfully devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

Mark longs to make the Bible come to life and help people discover that a full life is found in Jesus.

What We Believe

In core beliefs – we have unity.

“There is one body and one Spirit . . . one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

In peripheral beliefs – we have liberty.

“Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

In all beliefs – we show love.

“. . . if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” I Corinthians 13:2

Our Core beliefs (summary):

A Healthy Church

At LifePoint we rest in the truth of the Gospel so we welcome people who don’t share one of our core beliefs. Although all teaching on core beliefs will remain consistent, we do want to give people time to wrestle with these truths.

About Human Beings

We believe people are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called “sin.” This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

About Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

About Eternity

We believe people were created to live forever. We will either live eternally separated from God by sin, or live eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.

John 3:16; 2:25, 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 18:8, 25:44,46
